TikTok will open two new data centers in Europe to address concerns about data security and ease regulatory pressure from governments and regulators. The company has been trying to assure that user data and content cannot be accessed or manipulated by China’s Communist Party or any other entity under Beijing’s influence.
TikTok’s European general manager, Rich Waterworth, announced the expansion of the company’s data storage capacity in Europe in a blog post.
